It’s getting colder every day and your kids need for entertainment as well as fun educational activities isn’t getting any smaller. We have compiled a list of fun indoor activities to do around town to keep busy while also keeping warm!

Storytime at your local Mecklenburg County Library

Visit cmlibrary.org to find out the date and time of your local libraries storytime. Librarians will share stories, rhymes, and songs with children. These storytimes are free and would be a great activity to add to your weekly routine.

Bowling at 10 Park Lanes

Monday through Friday 10 Park Lanes on Montford Drive offers a lunch and bowl special. For $19 you get two games of bowling, shoes, and lunch.

Ray’s Splash Planet

Bring a little summer to these cold winter months with a trip to Ray’s Splash Planet. Infants 0-11 months are free, kids are $8 and adults are $11.

Visit One of Charlotte’s Discovery Place Museums

Discovery place has three fun locations to learn and interact with science, nature, and other kid-friendly activities. Go to toddler time at Discovery Place Kids and learn about shapes or arctic animals. Ask a beekeeper a question or see how a baby alligator eats at Discovery Place Nature. Or check out Charlotte’s only indoor rainforest at Discovery Place Science.

Catch a Show at the Children’s Theatre

January 8- February 10th at the Wells Fargo Playhouse: Judy Moody and Stink: The Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Treasure Hunt. Show times are usually 7:30 PM on Fridays, 11 AM and 3 PM on Saturdays and 2 PM and 4 PM on Sundays. Ticket prices vary from $25-$31. Toddler Time at Sky Zone

Indoor trampoline parks have blown up in Charlotte. And while they seem like something only bigger kids can do Sky Zone offers a Toddler Time a time for parents or nannies and their toddlers to share in the experience of an indoor trampoline park without the interference of the big kids.
