Summer Nanny Jobs

Summer Nanny Jobs

Do you know that at Charlotte’s Best Nanny Agency, we place summer and temporary nannies for children that are out of school? These positions are great for college students, recent graduates, and teachers. With school being closed and so many camps closed this summer, many parents are moving toward in home childcare. A variety of schedules are available, including full-time or part-time hours. Positions start in May or June and go through August or September. Some summer positions may lead to part-time hours once school starts in the fall or extend to a permanent position in the fall, dependent on what happens with school in the fall.

Summer is a great time to care for children and work with them to help them learn and grow while school is out. Families are looking for nannies who are engaged and interactive with their children, promoting growth and education. This may include playing outside together, doing arts and crafts, reading, age appropriate developmental activities, making snacks, and going for walks. Some of these positions may be parents working from home. In addition to childcare, families may request meal prepping, light housekeeping, house management tasks, or simple pet care.

Requirements are the same for all of our nanny positions.  Candidates must be CPR certified, pass a reference/background check, have a valid driver’s license and a vehicle. Knowing how to swim is a major plus, along with a background in child development or education.

We treat our temporary placements exactly the way we treat full-time placements.

  • Legal pay directly by the family via W-2
  • Mileage reimbursments
  • Continued pay while the family is away

AS ALWAYS WE NEVER CHARGE NANNIES ANY FEES WHATSOEVER FOR BEING REFERRED OUT TO OUR FAMILIES!

Here are tips for making a good impression on an application, in an interview, and on the job.

  • Translate your strengths
    • Mention courses, volunteer opportunities, jobs, etc that showcase your experience with children. Share ideas you have for fun activities. Ask about family preferences. Learn children’s favorite things, likes and dislikes.
  •  Be professional/accomdating.
    • Take your job seriously. No matter the work schedule, understand that families are trusting you. Missing work or running late can cause major inconveniences. Also, be sure to complete daily responsibilities to the best of your abilities. Know that sometimes there may be extra tasks for you to do and that last minute changes to the schedule may happen. Flexibility is always appreciated.
