Last Saturday we hosted our second International Nanny Training Day. We wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who attended this event! And another HUGE thank you to all of our amazing speakers. This event was a success because of all of you!
We started our day off learning baby signs from Kris Smooke of Tiny Hands Learning. She taught us some of the most useful signs to teach infants and we played a fun picture bingo game.
Next up, Shawna Pagano from Pat’s Place brought to us the Darkness to Light Training. This was a very intense two hour training on child sexual abuse. In this training we learned how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. Pat’s Place does amazing work in the Charlotte community and we were so honored to have Shawna come and present on this very real and very important topic.
After a quick lunch we were joined by Samantha Eaton of Healthy Eaton. Samantha talked to us about children’s nutrition and touched on topics like healthy swaps, balanced plates, and label reading. Samantha was very informative and taught us things we can easily apply to our everyday life.
We were lucky enough to have Sarah Tilton from Britax join us to speak about car seat safety next. As nannies, most of us work with or have worked with car seats or booster seats. Continuing to educate and train on the proper safety techniques is imperative. Sarah even brought along a Britax car seat and booster to raffle off to the attendees!
After some awesome raffle giveaways like movie tickets, a spa gift card, and a certificate to Foxcroft Wine Co, we wrapped up our training with a talk from Dr. Victoria Naumann from Brain Balance. Victoria gave a talk on Better Brain Better Behavior. Victoria was extremely informative and relatable. It was a great way to end the day.
Thank you again to all of our speaker and attendees! International Nanny Training Day 2019 was a huge success thanks to all of you! We look forward to seeing everyone next year for International Nanny Training Day 2020!
