International Nanny Training Day 2019 Speakers

Better Brain Better Behavior Workshop and Car Seat Safety

We are going to continue to introduce the amazing speakers who will be joining us for the 2019 International Nanny Training day. We are happy to introduce you to Dr. Victoria Naumann from Brain Balance Centers and Sarah Tilton from Britax.

Dr. Victoria Naumann is executive director of Brain Balance of Greenville, Charlotte and Cornelius.  Her background and education in functional neurology and previous practice as a chiropractic physician led her to her work in developing children who have focus, learning and behavior challenges.  Using brain based targeted activities to install and bring up functions in a child is what Dr. Naumann enjoys imparting to families and educators at workshops. During International Nanny Training Day Dr. Naumann will present a workshop called Better Brain Better Behavior. This is a workshop giving parents and educators insight into how a child’s brain creates the behavioral challenges of sensory issues, meltdowns, low frustration tolerance and behaviors common to children with ADHD and other challenges. With that understanding in place, strategies will be discussed to use with each child as an individual to increase brain function for better behavior choices. Participants will leave with many practical techniques they can use the very next day to help a child overcome behaviors that are getting in the way of learning and enjoying life.

Sarah Tilton, Child Passenger Safety Technician, joins us from Britax to talk about car seat safety. As an active CPS Technician (2002) and Instructor (2004), Sarah is the spokesperson for Britax within the advocacy community participating in child passenger safety activities at a local, state and national level. Sarah serves on the new product development, technical writing, and marketing teams at Britax. In addition, she managed and developed the training curriculum for the Britax Consumer Services department and organized and implemented a permanent checking station at Britax during her time with the company. Sarah is currently active with the Safe Kids South Carolina, Safe Kids York County SC, Safe Kids North Carolina, and Charlotte Mecklenburg NC coalitions. She is also a member of the NC Passenger Safety Training Committee and the National Child Passenger Safety Board representing the population at large. Britax has been a leader in mobile safety for more than 70 years. Extensive experience, hours of engineering and in-house child seat experts has made Britax a leader in child safety products. Britax engineers have brought more innovations like Versa-Tether and True Side Impact Protection to child seat safety than anyone else in the world.

We are so excited to get to hear from both of these experts at International Nanny Training Day on April 13th!
