Hanukkah begins today and will run through December 5th. This is the only time Hanukkah and Thanksgiving will be on the same day. There are a lot of fun Hanukkah events going on in Charlotte the next 8 days. We would just like to take this time to wish everyone a Happy Hanukkah!! The Jewish Community Center is hosting a Chanukah celebration in the Sam Learner Center, at Shalom Park. Featuring: Latkes, Jelly Doughnuts, Candle Lighting Songs, and Dreidels. Please bring a pair of pajamas size 4t – young adult xl to donate to Huntingtowne Farms, and Sterling Elementary Schools.

This event features the grand Menorah Lighting at South Park Mall in Charlotte, NC. Featuring crafts and dreidels, and Hot Latkes. Event is at circle court, between Belk and Nordstrom, from 4:30-6:00pm. Lighting begins at sundown.

Join us for a Congregational Family Shabbat Chanukah dinner followed by a festive family service. Bring your menorah and four candles to the sanctuary and join us as we light our menorahs together at the beginning of the service. Cost for the dinner is $10/adults and $8/child.

7:30 – Viewing of Imax Film “Jerusalem” Beth El goes to Discovery Place’s Imax Theatre for a special showing of Jerusalem. This Imax film features an inspiring and eye-opening tour of our Holy City through the eyes of three young Jerusalemites and their families: Jewish, Christian and Muslim. It follows, as well, archaeologist Dr. Jodi Magness as she explores some of the most extraordinary historical sites in the region. There is limited seating.
