Today is Giving Tuesday. Today is a day to give back to your community in any way you can. We know that this has been a difficult year for many in the country and world. As we have all navigated through the Covid-19 pandemic we have all encountered different challenges whether it be childcare, education, medical expenses, loss of a job or business, a death in the family, or any other thing that can come up in a normal year and in a global pandemic.
While we know this year has been difficult for many in the area, we are grateful that our area has many awesome local charities that support children, families, and residents of our area. We are extremely grateful to these organizations and know that many of them have been struggling this year right along with us as donations and volunteering has slowed and the need has risen exponentially. If you are able to, we encourage you to support any of the organizations we support throughout the year or any of the other wonderful organizations that support the community. We have given you some ideas below on how to support charities this giving Tuesday (Some you can even get the children involved in), as well as information and links to donate to some local charities if you can. If you can not donate money at this time, you can always find a way to donate some time to a person or charity in need.
Ideas on How to Give Back
- Show gratitude to essential workers by writing cards, drawing pictures of thanks, donating gift cards, or having food delivered to them.
- Make Bookworm Buddies for Promising Pages
- FaceTime a family member who you can not see right now or is in a nursing home.
- Make a food donation station in the community
- Make blessing bags
