Information on Chrissy Winchester Photography – Written by Chrissy Winchester

Hi!

I’m Chrissy, owner, and photographer at Chrissy Winchester Photography.

Photography to me is so important. I don’t know about you, but my memory is awful, so pictures serve as a tool to help me remember moments in time that have passed. They tell a story; pieced together by capturing moments in time.

Growing up, I used to love thumbing through my grandparents old photo albums and hearing the story of each of the people in the photographs. Each person was unique and watching my grandparents reminisce over the memories was heart-warming and so intriguing to me.

I have a passion for capturing your fleeting moments. I love when my clients are lost in the moment and that is captured in the frame. It is especially important to me to show connection in my imagery. My mother is not one who likes the camera; and every photo I look back on of her and I, with the expectation of my wedding day, she is hiding behind me, or leaning out of the frame. She is the best mom, but very few of the pictures we have together portrays that. Luckily, my daughters have the honor of knowing their Grammy, but not everyone has that luxury. What would my girls have thought if she wasn’t still here in the flesh? Would they think she was a cold, distant mother?

Trust me, I hear ya. I am a mother to a toddler and an infant and the last thing I want is to be caught in a photo where my hair is in a messy top-knot-wanna-be and I have no make-up on. Ohh, the dark circles that will be showing…. the fly-aways that will look like wings coming out of my ears. But you know what? My girls will have the photos to look back on someday and share with their grandchildren; and hopefully have those same heart-warming memories. Get in front of the camera with your littles, ladies!

My style is one of organic, natural imagery that focuses on the connection; avoiding distracting wardrobes and backgrounds. The color palette that best lends itself to these types of images is one of soft, muted tones. For inspiration for this color palette, you can visit our What To Wear board on Pinterest.

I specialize in natural light, on-location maternity, newborn, child, family and senior photography in the Lake Norman and Charlotte, NC areas.
